Lake Forest Charter School is excited to get back to school! The first day for students in Grades 1-8 is Wednesday, August 8 and Kindergarten’s first day is Wednesday, August 15. All students will report to Lake Forest’s campus at 11110 Lake Forest Blvd. at 8am.
“We can’t wait to get back to school and see our amazing students,” said Mardele Early, Founding CEO. “Our teachers and staff have been tirelessly preparing for the new school year and we are ready to get back to work!” New Orleans Charter Science and Math High School, “Sci High,” has appointed Dr. Monique G. Cola, PhD. as its new Principal of the high school. Sci High, located at 5625 Loyola Ave. in Uptown New Orleans. is one of the highest performing open-enrollment science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) schools in the state.
“Out of a strong pool of highly qualified candidates, Dr. Cola stood out from the start,” said Mary Zervigon, Board Chair, Advocates for Science & Mathematics Education Inc. “We are thrilled to have such a committed, experienced and passionate STEM leader and cannot wait to see what the future holds for Sci High under her leadership.” In November last year, Facebook announced the launch of a new program to invest in small businesses across the country. The program, Community Boost, is designed to help small businesses grow and to give more people the digital skills they need to compete in the new economy. Facebook Community Boost will be visiting 30 cities this year and will be in New Orleans from August 7 to 9.

The tax rolls will be open weekdays beginning Monday, July 16, to Wednesday, August 15, from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
