Registration is now open for the 5th Annual District Attorney’s Academy, hosted by Orleans DA Leon Cannizzaro and for the first time in the popular program’s history it is offering Continuing Legal Education credits to attorneys, announced organizer Anne Kiefer.
The first class begins Tuesday September 8 and continues for seven consecutive Tuesdays, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Orleans DA's Grand Jury Room, 619 South White St. Registration is limited to 40 participants. The registration packet can be downloaded at www.kreweoftruth.com. The Academy is a Community Outreach project of the Orleans DA's Office created to ensure the safety of the New Orleans community through the education of citizens in the criminal justice system and how to effective interact with all its parts.

Though virtual education used to be seen by many as reserved for post-high school classes, many parents are now opting to place their children in online schooling throughout their K-12 years. Louisiana Connections Academy, a free public virtual charter school open to students from every parish of the state, is one of the many online schools in the state that is growing rapidly.  The Eastbank Collaborative of Charter Schools (ECCS) invites you to come visit! We’re proud of our schools and excited to get back to work.
