Congratulations to Audubon Schools’ CEO Latoye Brown who was featured in the National Alliance for Public Charter School’s blog this week in celebration of Women’s History Month. Ms. Brown will also be taking over the NAPCS Instagram posts for March. Brown is a participant in the School Leaders of Color convening, and shares her experience serving as an educational leader in the post-Katrina landscape.

Earlier today at Audubon Charter School’s Broadway Campus, First Lieutenant Eddie Dollis surprised his daughter, Emyni, a Pre-K 4 student at Audubon. Dollis has been deployed for in the Middle East for six months with the Air Force and Emyni has not seen him until today! Check out the emotional and beautiful surprise!

In honor of Black History Month, Audubon Charter School presents “Dreams Freedom Change-African American Voices Through History, ” a play performed by Audubon’s Talented Arts Theatre Program. Audubon Schools to Hold Recruitment Day for New Gentilly School this Saturday at Milne Park11/15/2017 The A-rated Audubon Charter School will open a new school, Audubon Gentilly, in Fall 2018 at the former Gentilly Terrace Elementary Campus. Audubon Gentilly will combine the current Audubon Charter School’s Montessori and French immersion curricula into a new Montessori French Immersion model.
Audubon Gentilly will host a Recruitment Day on Saturday, November 18 from 11am-3pm at Milne Park, 2400 Filmore Ave. The day will feature family friendly activities, food, and the opportunity to experience a Montessori French Language classroom activity through live demonstrations. Hynes Charter School, which hopes to expand its elementary program to a new site on the UNO campus, and Audubon Charter Schools, which will open a new Montessori French Immersion program in Gentilly next year, are joining other Greater New Orleans Collaborative Charter Schools (GNOCCS) in the open enrollment ENROLL NOLA program offered by the New Orleans Public School System, announced GNOCCS Director Ken Ducote.
