Performance Schedule:
Flamenco- 6:15pm, 7:00pm, 7:30pm, Aerial Silks 6:45pm, Middle Eastern Dance 7:00pm, Circus Arts 7:20pm
 
Why:
The Refrigerator Art Auction & Gala, named after a child’s first "Art Gallery," brings together local artists, musicians, and more than 300 guests for an unforgettable night of eclectic art, live entertainment, music, dancing, food, an international atmosphere and much more. Join us and celebrate the ISL community who makes immersion education possible!
Over 23 original Art pieces and 8 Fridge Doors converted into works of art make up the Art auction at this year's event. Artists featured in the Art auction include Craig Tracy, Terrance Osborne, Monty!, Steve Whatstyle, and Times Picayune Arts & Entertainment writer Doug MacCash.

NEW ORLEANS, LA. – Einstein Charter School Sherwood Forest will host young leaders from the Water Environment Federation (WEF) for a special event called Water Palooza this Friday, September 23 from 9am to 2:30pm at Einstein Charter School Sherwood Forest, 4801 Maid Marion in New Orleans East.
 
Water Palooza will feature hands-on activities and demonstrations designed to connect the next generation with water, how essential it is to everything, and how we are all responsible for taking care of it.

Benjamin Franklin High School is proud to announce the following twenty-three (23) seniors have been selected as Semifinalists and twelve (12) were named National Merit Commended Scholars in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program announced by the officials of National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). All Finalists will be considered for National Merit Scholarships to be offered in 2017.

MAYOR MITCH LANDRIEU ADDS SUPPORT TODAY SEPTEMBER 12
 
            School Board Member Woody Koppel, seeking re-election to his third term representing District 6 on the Orleans Parish School Board, has picked up the the support of Mayor Mitch Landrieu and the following organizational endorsements:
 
            Alliance for Good Government
            Independent Democratic Electors Association (IDEA)
            Independent Women’s Organization (IWO)
            Regular Democrats Organization (RDO)
            Orleans Parish Republican Executive Committee (ORPEC)
 
Additionally, Mr. Koppel’s candidacy has been endorsed by Council President Stacy Head and Members Jared Brossett, LaToya Cantrell and Susan Guidry; State Legislators Walt Leger, Helena Moreno and J.P. Morrell; and former U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu.
 
“I look forward to the challenges and opportunities the next four years will present. I’m looking forwarding to lead our schools through this transformative period where RSD schools start returning to the OPSB system. The returning schools will have the opportunity now to meet our high standards for serving all our children well,” said Mr. Koppel.
 
Mr. Koppel was first elected to the School Board in 2008; has served as Board President, and said his focus has been returning the public school system to a sound fiscal footing, citing these accomplishments:
 
•Cutting the Board’s $500 million debt in half through sound fiscal practices and oversight
•Improving the budget controls and finances for the system, earning a top bond rating from Standard & Poor’s (A+) & Moody’s (Aa3)
—the highest of any public body in the State
•Refinancing the system’s General Obligation Bonds at a savings to the taxpayers of $25 million
