Moody (504) 274-3651 Baton Rouge Charter Board Leaders and Prospective Leaders invited to ‘The Top Shelf’ this Thursday October 3, 6 p.m. Meeting focuses on best practices in charter school leadership The Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools (LAPCS) invites current and prospective charter board leaders to a panel discussion this Thursday, Oct. 3, 6 p.m., Mentorship Academy, 339 Florida Blvd., to discuss best practices in charter school governance.
The event is free. The panel will include Makiyah Moody, Governance Initiatives Director, LAPCS; Bryan Jones, Mentorship Academy; Quentin Messer, Jr., South Louisiana Charter Foundation (Charter Schools USA); and Caroline Roemer Shirley, Executive Director, LAPCS. The Top Shelf, a signature program of the LAPCS, increases the effectiveness of charter school boards across Louisiana through ongoing training and recruitment. Said Ms. Moody. “This session will offer current and potential charter governing board members critical insight on their responsibilities, while providing a sounding board for participants to reflect upon, and share with others, their personal learning journey as charter board members.” |
