Veteran New Orleans Attorney Suzanne “Suzy” Montero, a seasoned litigator with nearly 25 years experience in almost every state and federal court throughout south Louisiana, announced her candidacy for the unexpired seat in Division B of Orleans Parish Civil District Court.
The seat became open with the November election of the Honorable Regina Bartholomew Woods to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal. A special primary election to fill the vacated CDC judgeship will be held March 25, 2017. The runoff will be April 29, 2017.
Ms. Montero amassed thousands of courtroom hours practicing civil law, having tried both judge and jury trials in state and federal court. She is committed to being fair and impartial as a judge, to moving her docket in a timely and orderly manner, and putting the needs of Orleans citizens first.
“Orleans Parish deserves a judge committed to the needs of its people,” said Ms. Montero.
A native New Orleanian, Ms. Montero received her law degree in 1991 from LSU; her Bachelor’s from Southern Methodist University and graduated high school from St. Martin’s Episcopal in 1981.
