Members from the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) visited Einstein Charter School recently to explore the state-designated “Top Gains School”, converse with teachers, and meet with school leaders. Einstein Charter is a recognized Top Performing School by the local school board, with an open admissions, tuition-free PK-8 school in New Orleans East. It has one of the highest English-as-Second Language populations in Orleans, including Vietnamese and Hispanic cultures. Chief Executive Officer Shawn Toranto said Einstein strives to provide children the highest quality education in a diverse and nurturing environment. In 2013, Einstein Charter’s 8th grade students had a 100 percent LEAP pass rate. Einstein Charter School recently expanded with the opening of Einstein Charter School Extension, also in New Orleans East.
