Confused about Public Education Issues in Louisiana? Watch Educating Louisiana, Thursdays, 8:30 p.m., Cox Cable 4 in NOLA, BR and Lafayette
The Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools, Caroline Roemer-Shirley, Executive Director, is hosting a weekly series on the state of public education in Louisiana, focusing on the increasing diversity of options in the public school market.
The half-hour show, titled Educating Louisiana, airs every Thursday at 8:30 p.m. on Cox Cable Station 4 in the Baton Rouge, Lafayette and New Orleans markets. The show is hosted by Veronica Brooks, LAPCS's Policy Director.
Ms. Brooks began her career in education with Teach for America as a middle school science teacher and went on to work with Washington D.C. Public Schools and the Louisiana Department of Education before joining LAPCS. She earned a Masters in Public Policy, with a focus on Education, from George Washington University.
Previous shows have featured Representative Stephen Carter, Chair, House Education Committee, Board of Elementary and Secondary Education President Chas Roemer and APEL Deputy Director Jennifer Andrews.
Thursday, April 3's show will feature Michael Tipton, Executive Director, Teach for America South Louisiana and Sarah Broome, Founder & Executive Director, Thrive Charter School.
