TẾT is the most important celebration in Vietnamese culture. It takes place from the first day of the month of the Vietnamese calendar until at least the third day. Many families prepare special holiday food and practice special customs this time of year. Einstein’s student population is almost 30% Vietnamese and embraces this unparalleled diversity with the TẾT celebration. “We are privileged to serve a phenomenal and culturally diverse student population at Einstein,” says CEO Shawn Toranto. “Each year Einstein makes commitment in recognizing and celebrating all of our students and their cultures.” Students at each Einstein campus have been preparing their programs for the past couple weeks. While the programs will each have their own special additions each will feature the Vietnamese Anthem, song of the New Year, fashion show and the Versailles (Dragon) Dance Team. Students will learn about the history of the Zodiac and the meaning of the “Year of the Rooster.” Parents, families and community members are welcome to attend the celebrations in support of the Vietnamese population at Einstein Charter Schools.
