Hynes Charter School to Celebrate FrancoFest April 18-21

Hynes Charter School will celebrate its 2nd Annual FrancoFest to promote the culture of francophone countries and highlight its French Immersion and Foreign Language in the Elementary Schools (FLES) programs.  From now through April 21, Hynes is encouraging parents to take part in this celebration of French language at their homes with cooking and speaking challenges (for details go to FrancoFest link on www.hynesschool.com
WHEN:
April 18-21

Activities include:

PLAYING:
All week during recess and class game activity, Hynes Coach Nate will teach two fun French games to students: Dodgeball Francais (French Dodgeball) and Poule, Renard, Vipere (Chicken, Fox, or Snake).

KIDsmART: 
All month during art integrated lessons, Jenn Potts, Hynes’ artist-in-residence, will incorporate the following artists in her arts-integrated lessons: Henri Matisse, Francis Pavy, Elemore Morgan, and Claude Closky.

LUNCH at SCHOOL:
Hynes cafeteria will feature some French-inspired items during the week such as Croque Monsieur (ham and melted cheese on croissant), fruit and cheese, strawberries and cream, and chocolate mousse pudding.
 
SHARING OUR CULTURE:
All week, French teachers will organize and present cultural activities from their countries (France, Canada, Tchad) to the Hynes students: Music, paintings, monuments, food, games.
