Louisiana Connections Academy, a free public virtual charter school open to students from every parish of the state, has 500 additional openings for students in grades K-12 for the upcoming school year, said Lead Principal Glenda Jones.

Parents are encouraged to contact the school about enrollment now. Parents can enroll their child online at
www.LouisianaConnectionsAcademy.com or call the school at 225-372-8389.

“We are excited to offer openings, but it is also late in the enrollment game. If your child is not happy with their school assignment or if virtual schooling would help your student excel in the 2015-2016 school year, contact us now,” said Principal Jones.
Information sessions are scheduled throughout the state and online. To find the session nearest or most convenient for your schedule, parents can go to www.ConnectionsAcademy.com/LACAevents . The information sessions review the school’s curriculum, programs and provide opportunities to ask questions of teachers and currently enrolled families.

More than 1700 students were enrolled in the free public school last academic year. Principal Jones said she and her staff are there to help families transition from a traditional brick-and-mortar school to the joys, freedom and flexibility of an online, public education.

“We are like any other school in that we meet state curriculum standards, require testing accountability and offer students all the opportunities of clubs and field trips. But we also offer personalized tutoring, and high quality electives. I encourage you to find out how we can help your student now,” said Principal Jones.

She said Louisiana Connections Academy offers each child a personalized education that addresses their interests, learning pace and schedule.

“We make sure your child is not just okay, but is growing and excelling. We empower you and your child to cross the graduation line,” said Principal Jones.
