Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced his endorsement of Dr. Jeffrey Rouse in the run-off for the Orleans Coroner’s office.
"The Coroner's Office is an important part of the city's criminal justice system, so it is vitally important that we have a Coroner with integrity who can restore the public's trust and turn it into a modern and well-functioning office," said Mayor Mitch Landrieu.
"With a new facility coming online soon, I am confident Dr. Jeffrey Rouse has the experience and commitment and will have the tools to get the job done."
Mayor Landrieu joins a host of endorsements for Rouse in the Coroner’s race, including Councilmember At-Large Stacy Head, Councilmember Susan Guidry, Speaker Pro Tempore Walt Leger, State Representatives Helena Moreno, Nick Lorusso, and Neil Abramson, BOLD, IDEA, the Alliance for Good Government, the New Orleans Coalition, and third-place finisher in the February 1st primary, Dr. Vincent Culotta.
Dr. Rouse received 32% of the vote in the primary, earning a spot in the Saturday, March 15th run-off. Early voting has already begun and will run through Saturday, March 8th. To learn more, visit www.RouseForCoroner.com.
