Monroe, LA., June 4, 2013 – The Miss Louisiana Pageant will celebrate its’ 50th year in Monroe June 26 – 29 at the Monroe Civic Center’s W.L. “Jack” Howard Theater. The pageant and will feature 36 contestants from all over the Bayou state vying for the title of Miss Louisiana. Preliminary competition will be held on Wednesday and Thursday evening and the live statewide telecast will be held on Saturday, June 29. This year’s show will feature 34 former Miss Louisiana’s in the 50th annual pageant as well as current Miss Louisiana 2012 – Lauren Vizza. We are also excited to announce that for the first time ever we will have a Miss Louisiana Variety Show on Friday, June 28 featuring our former Miss Louisiana’s of the past 50 Years performing their talent. The week leading up to the pageant will be filled with many activities open to the public, which will feature our former Miss Louisiana’s. A full schedule will be available soon.

The Miss Louisiana Organization has a volunteer based Board of Directors that works to share the accomplishments of the 36 contestants and provide scholarships to further their education. The Miss Louisiana Organization awarded over $60,000 in cash scholarships last year, and made available over $1 million in in-kind scholarships. The Miss Louisiana Organization is part of the Miss America Organization who offers over $45 million dollars in cash and scholarships annually, making them the number one provider of scholarships for women in the world.
