What: 6th Annual Community Gala and Auction to benefit Morris Jeff Community School When: Thursday, October 9th 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM; Where: The New Orleans Fairgrounds Clubhouse, 4th Floor 1751 Gentilly Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70119 Why: Support Morris Jeff Community School, the only International Baccalaureate elementary school in the state of Louisiana, as they host a night full of celebration, art, and local music and food. Food will be provided by more than a dozen local eateries, including MONDO, Dooky Chase Restaurant, The Ruby Slipper, Pagoda Café, Juan's Flying Burrito, Slice, The Lucky Rooster, and Canseco’s Markets. Dozens of items will be up for grabs in our silent auction (including a 1-week stay at Tranquility Bay Resort in Ambergris Caye, Belize!). Beverages will be provided by some of New Orleans’ favorite haunts. Live music will include sultry singer Michaela Harrison at 6:30pm followed by a new-school R&B performance from Soul Project NOLA at 8pm. About Morris Jeff Community School Morris Jeff Community School opened in the fall of 2010 as a Type 5 open-access public charter school. It currently serves more than 500 students in grades pre-K through 6th and will grow to a full Pre-K through 8th-grade school. It is currently the only elementary school in Louisiana that is authorized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) School, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP).
