The Greater New Orleans Collaborative of Charter Schools (GNOCCS) announced its 2017 Executive Officers:
The Collaborative is directed by Ken Ducote. The Greater New Orleans Collaborative of Charter Schools (GNOCCS), formerly The Eastbank Collaborative of Charter Schools, is a formal alliance of 13 public schools in the Greater New Orleans area, which promotes public charter schools as a permanent and viable option for children.
“There are many changes coming to the Orleans Parish public charter school network and I am excited to be leading this organization which has provided such a leadership role in developing quality, academically excellent schools which demonstrate that all our children can excel,” said President Brown. GNOCCS is a voluntary network dedicated to supporting school leaders and their charter boards through information and advocacy, shared services, and reduced costs. Member Schools are Audubon Charter School; Benjamin Franklin High School; Hynes Charter School; International High School of New Orleans; International School of Louisiana; International School of Louisiana, Jefferson; Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy; Lake Forest Elementary Charter; Lusher Charter School; Morris Jeff Community School; Robert Russa Moton Charter School; New Orleans Charter Science and Math High School; Warren Easton Charter High School. The GNOCCS is a 501c3, working to maintain the autonomy of each member school, while protecting the long-term structure, durability and operation of all charters in Louisiana. The collaborative was formed in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina, when the determination and ingenuity of six principals facilitated formation of the organization to share solutions for opening schools after the storm, becoming a driving force in recovery and redevelopment of the city.
