The 6th annual Young Audiences Dancing for the Arts Gala will be held Friday, April 17th at 6:30 PM at Harrah’s Casino Theatre. The event will include an open bar, hors d’oeuvres and dinner by Harrah’s Casino.

The one-night event is modeled after the popular reality television program Dancing with the Stars, and will feature local community leaders competing on the dance floor with Young Audiences’ performing artists. This year’s competitors include Physician Adil Fatakia, Founder/Creative Director at Fashion Week New Orleans Tracee Dundas, Whitney National Bank VP and Philanthropist Marguerite Moisio, Executive Director of the the Louisiana Endowment of the Humanities Miranda Restovic, Councilmember Nadine Ramsey, and Attorney and Philantropist Michelle Craig.

The emcee for the evening will be WDSU anchor Camille Whitworth. The judges panel will include WDSU Meteorologist Damon Singleton, Community Activist Ivy Kushner and Fox Sports Journalist Jen Hale.

For more information and to purchase tickets to the event, go to www.dancingfortheartsnola.com. Individual tickets are $100 and patron tickets are $125, along with other special ticket packages that are available.                Those who do not attend can still vote for their favorite dancer at $1.00 per vote with a $10.00 minimum at DancingfortheArtsNola.com. All votes will be counted toward the chosen celebrity dancers to help them earn the coveted People's Choice award the night of the event.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Young Audiences of Louisiana.  With over 50 years of experience, Young Audiences has adapted and evolved to serve the ever-changing needs of students in our community. Today they employ over 220 local artists who reach over 100,000 students in Louisiana through performances, residencies, and extended learning programming. In afterschool and summer programs alone they serve over 2,000 students free-of-charge in the greater New Orleans area.
