Young Audiences Charter School is happy to announce that students from the school will be performing both Fridays of Jazzfest. On Friday, April 25 from 11:30 am - 12:15 pm, the Young Audiences Brass Band Throwdown will take place at the Kid’s Tent at Jazzfest. Young Audiences will also have students from McDonogh 32, Eisenhower, Lincoln, and Mahalia Jackson School on hand to assist the Young Audiences Brass Band with entertaining Jazzfest visitors. The following Friday, May 2 from 11:30 am – 12:15 pm, students from Young Audiences Charter School will return to the Kid’s Tent at Jazzfest to take part in the Performing Arts Showcase. Along with students from other schools, the Young Audiences Charter School ballet team will dazzle visitors with their nifty moves and acrobatic dance performance. Come out to the Jazzfest Kid’s Tent at the Fair Grounds Race Course, centrally located at 1751 Gentilly Boulevard to support our kids and have a good time while doing it!
Young Audiences Charter School: Academic Excellence with an Artistic Edge Young Audiences of Louisiana was founded in 1962 with the mission to inspire, empower, and connect children and communities through education, arts, and culture. Over the last 51 years the organization has grown from presenting school performances of chamber music to our current position as the state's largest provider of arts-integrated and after-school programs. In 2012 Young Audiences of Louisiana employed over 250 trained teaching artists and educators to provide after-school programs for over 2,200 students free-of-charge in the Greater New Orleans area.
