12th Annual Refrigerator Art Auction & Gala to benefit the International School of Louisiana (ISL) When: Saturday, September 26, 6:00 PM to 10 PM Where: Generations Hall, 310 Andrew Higgins Dr . , New Orleans, LA 70130 Why: Inspired by the humble kitchen appliance that serves as the first showcase for budding artists everywhere; this fun-filled event features an eclectic art and non-art auction, fantastic food, live music and an open bar. The a uction includes hand painted custom-designed fridge doors and other unique items. Tickets: General admission tickets are $75 each or $140 per couple, inclusive of music, food, open bar, and silent auction. Reserved seating with bar service also available. Admission to Metro Night Club following Gala included. Pre-event online and campus ticket sales close on September 18, but tickets will be sold at the door night of the event. New this year, guests and community members can enjoy online and mobile bidding for our silent auction. The City Council will declare October 2015 as Notarial Archives Month in New Orleans. To celebrate, Clerk Dale Atkins will present one hour tours of Notarial Archives will be available Thursdays October 8, 15, and 29 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Amoco Building, Room 360, on 1340 Poydras St. New Orleans has one of the richest land records archives in the nation, with documents dating back to 1735, and reflecting its history as a French and Spanish colony. The Notarial Archives staff assists the public with architectural, historical and genealogical searches. The tours are first come, first served and are limited to 20 people per tour. On October 16-18 2015 nationally known researchers and scholars will gather in New Orleans at the Crowne Plaza Hotel-Airport, 2829 Williams Blvd., Kenner, Louisiana for Oswald's Summer of Secrets: New Orleans and the JFK Assassination. The Eastbank Collaborative of Charter Schools (ECCS) has changed its name to the Greater New Orleans Collaborative of Charter Schools (GNOCCS), reflecting its growing membership and service area.
The GNOCCS, formerly The Eastbank Collaborative of Charter Schools, is a formal alliance of 14 public schools in the Greater New Orleans area which promotes public charter schools as a permanent and viable option for children. GNOCCS is a voluntary network dedicated to keeping Principals and their charter boards “in charge” through information and advocacy, shared services, and reduced costs. |
